In accordance with ODJFS rule 5101:2-9-38 New Beginnings Residential Treatment Center has implemented the Community Engagement Policy.

New Beginnings will have protocols for the community to communicate concerns or other pertinent information directly to the agency.

Community Engagement

5101:2-9-38    Community Engagement Plan for New Beginnings Residential Treatment Center

(A)      A residential facility certified on or after the effective date of this rule shall have a written community engagement plan which shall include:

  • Protocols for the community in which a residential facility is located to communicate concerns or other pertinent information directly to the facility which shall include at a minimum:
    • A contact number for the facility.  New Beginnings Residential Treatment Center’s contact number is (330) 744-9020 is the number to call to communicate concerns.
    • There is no agency email address.
  • The agency shall provide all applicable information listed in paragraph (A)(1) of this rule following:
  • Upon request to an individual
  • If the facility has a website, the information shall be made available on the site. The web address is new-beginningsrtc.com.  The Community Engagement Plan is found at https://new-beginningsrtc.com/community-engagement-policy/
  • Protocols for the agency in responding to such a communication which shall include a time frame for responding to a community request.  Emergencies will be responded to within 30 minutes. Most non-emergency responses will be addressed within 3 days.

5103.051 Community Engagement Plan

(B)(1)

(i.) Protocols for the community in which a residential facility is located to communicate concerns or other pertinent information directly to the agency or entity.

  1. The protocols for the community in which New Beginnings Residential Treatment Centers are located to communicate concerns or other pertinent information directly to the agency or entity as follows:

New Beginnings Residential Treatment Center has an Administrator that is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Administrator, Josette Landis, may be contacted at any time pertaining to community concerns or other pertinent information at (330) 980-3030. The facilities may also be contacted to speak to someone 7 days a week during working business hours at 330-744-9020. For additional assistance after hours, The Program Director, Jessica Moore, (330) 978-4057, Residential Supervisors; Mr. Robert Echols (330-980-2344, or Ms. Ashlee Jamison (330) 369-9071. Mental Health concerns can be directed to the Clinical Director, Josette Landis, at (330) 980-3030.

(ii.) Protocols for the agency in responding to a communication made under division (B)(1)(a)(i) of this section.

  1. Protocols for New Beginnings Residential Treatment Centers in responding to a communication under division (B)(1)(a)(i) of this section as follows:

For emergencies—immediate responses and/or within a 30-minute time period, the Administrator or designee will be in contact with the community agency.

For non-emergencies—the Administrator or designee will be in contact with the community agency within 3 business days.

(b) Orientation procedures for training residential facility staff on the implementation of the community engagement plan established under division (A) of this section and procedures for responding to incidents involving a child at the facility and neighbors or the police.

  1. All New Beginnings Residential Treatment Center staff are required to take the following trainings within the first 30 days of employment:
    • Familiarization of employee with Emergency and Safety Procedures in the facility.
    • The Emergency Medical Plan for the facility
    • Community Engagement Plan

(iii.) The procedures for responding to incidents involving a child at the facility and neighbors or the police as described in division (B) of section 5103.051 of the Revised Code.
